The Laser is a single-handed, strict one-design and Olympic class that is sailed enthusiastically all over the world by young and old, novice and expert alike. The Laser offers the unique combination of exciting sailing, simple rig, portability, and highly competitive fleets. It offers three configurations to accommodate varying conditions, sailor weight and sailor ability.  Each rig only requires a different lower mast section and sail.  A great boat you can learn in and never outgrow.
Friday Evening Racing:Laser races are held each Friday evening May 1st through August 28th 2009.  We try to have approximately 3 to 6 short races each Friday with an informal cookout (burgers, crab cakes, etc. for sale) after racing. Order your dinner before the races and enjoy speaking with other sailors afterwards.  The racing starts at 6:00 pm. Order your dinner before the races and enjoy with other sailors afterwards. A very relaxed and educational atmosphere, this is a great venue to come get acquainted with the Laser and to get some good boat-handling practice in. If you love sailing and/or racing but have never sailed a Laser and would like to check it out, please contact me and we'll schedule a boat for a Friday evening. Trust me, you'll be hooked! NOR
David Irey Memorial Regatta, Saturday and Sunday June 6-7, 2009.  Skippers meeting at 9:30 am, and first warning signal at 11:00 am. NOR
Junior Regatta, Tuesday July 7th, 2009.  A great day of competition for junior sailors in Lasers (both full and radial rigs), Opti’s, and 420’s.  Nancy Irey Regatta Chair.
Annual Regatta, Labor Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday September 5-6, 2009.  Sailed with many other classes on several different race courses.  Informal dinner after racing on Saturday evening.
Laser District Championship, Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13, 2009.  WRSC is hosting the 2009 District Championship.  It should be a great regatta with at least 40 boats participating.  Skippers meeting at 9:30 am, and first warning signal at 11:00 am.
