>Bob and Jill Robinson took the first place in the Albacore fleet at the 39th Virginia Governor's Cup Regatta, held at Ware River Yacht Club in Gloucester, VA on August 2-3, 2003. It was a sweep for the West River Albacore Fleet for the top places, as Jasper and Becky Craig took second, and Jim and Susan Graham placed third among the eight Albacores racing in a very competitve regatta. >Barney Harris and David Byron have won the 2003 International Albacore Championships, held at CORK in Kingston, Ontario 21-26 July 2003. A total of 8 West River Albacore teams participated in the Championships: Find the complete results and press release here.

> The Annual Cambridge Yacht Club One-Design Regatta was held July 12-13, 2003. Lloyd Leonard with crew Doug Foord took first place in the Albacores by a quarter point, over Barney Harris and David Byron. Daphne Byron and Nate Boril took third. Complete Results have now been posted.

>Six West River Albacores participated in the Galesville Heritage Race, held May 31, 2003. There was an exciting interval in the Rhodes River section, but all Albacores managed to stay upright! It was a quick race this year - at least 30 minutes faster than in recent years. Results.

>The US Albacore Association Mid-Atlantic Championships were held at Miles River Yacht Club in St. Michaels on May 3-4, 2003.

Current USAA Nationals Champions and West River sailors Jasper and Becky Craig took 1st place, in a competitive regatta with a range of wind conditions.
