Thoughts on Membership in The S2 7.9 Class Association:
By Gary Hendrickson former S2 7.9 Class President ( 1986 - 1988).
I would like to add my voice to those of your governing committee
and urge you to mail in your annual class dues today.
None of the class officers and other volunteers who make this
class association function are paid for their efforts, and this
is one of the reasons last year's annual dues were still the same
amount that was set in 1984 when the class was born.
Class Association dues are terrific value-for-money for any 7.9
owner. The Class does a lot for its members:
- Keeps boat resale value up
- moves used boats
- Distributes a great deal of info about the boat that is
extremely useful to those new to the boat
- Promotes the boat and its owners' sailing and racing activities
- Sanctions and helps organize an expanding one-design racing
program supported by strong class rules.
- Faithfully keeps you up to date about the boat and its affairs
through this fine newsletter.
The class needs your dues to function. Keep the class strong.
Do the right thing and remit today!
Gary Hendrickson
Past President
Editors Note: We add a slight correction to Gary's article. The
dues has NOT remained the same from the class origination.
Looking back thru the class documentation we observed that
obtaining a copy of the Class Rules use to cost an additional
$5.00.($20 total for dues & rules) For the last 7+ yrs we have
provided copies of the Class rules upon request to all dues
paying members at no additional charge. So it appears to us that
the dues has actually been REDUCED !
