Send more pictures!  What clever things have you done? Where did you go on your last cruise? What problem can you only describe with a picture?

From Bill Stellin
Jaywalker (hull #6)
The picture shows work done in stainless steel in Turkey to add a removable bracket for our passerele. The ladder is just a piece of aluminum scaffolding with some scrap plywood screwed to it. Cost about $15. The brackets, however, were about $120—still quite a bargain. They are removable for when we return to the US or wherever Med-type mooring is not required.

Marc Hersch of Songline (hull #7) sent these photos in early September. At that time he and Monica were in Puerto Mogan, Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). They planned to return to their home port of Santa Cruz Harbor (Santa Cruz, California) after a five-year cruise.

Bill Boyeson sent photos of several great changes he made to Jiminy (hull #23)
Glad to answer any questions that anyone might have. Bill Boyeson Hull #23 ('97)-"Jiminy" Seattle

1. Added handy shelf under nav station for various books, manuals, etc.

2. Replaced rectangular wood trim that conceals jib track bolts with a curved cherry piece that wraps around edge of deck and up under window. (Big job, but really dresses up this area of the boat.)

3. & 4. Installed fold-down seat on back side of galley to provide additional seating at the table or a leg rest.

5. Cut quarter circle strip out of Corian and installed under front hatch lid to keep jib sheet from catching in the gap.

6. & 7. Installed "portable" radar dome on spinnaker pole track. (Quickly installs when you need radar and stores under V-berth. Radar screen plugs in under dodger—works great and it's out of the way most of the time.)

8. Installed paper towel dispenser above galley and used a ratcheted dispenser that keeps the paper from spooling out extra paper.

9. Added wood grid (cedar) in locker below cockpit seating so you can stand on something flat and/or actually reach something on the bottom of the "pit."

10. Installed Wallas diesel heater in forward hanging locker with vents in V-berth area and main cabin. Quiet, uses very little power and works great on those cold mornings and evenings. Relatively easy to install and not as expensive as many of the other heating systems available.

In late October 2003, Onne van der Wal took these photos of Bravo, in Penobscot Bay off Camden, Maine. The new J/42 ad shows one of Onne's shots from that day.

The entertainment center on #59. That space sort of begs for this, doesn't it?!

This is #60 at the boat show. Prettiest boat there!

An interior view of #60, showing the main salon. Remember the days when cushions were covered with canvas or scratchy tweed?

Troy Worrell sent this shot of his radar installation. Tom Babbitt thinks this panel should be standard, it's so gorgeous!

Amigo VI at splashdown May 5, 2003

Here’s the table we had installed in Bravo. It’s an adapted J/46 table, and fits quite nicely.

This is our solution to what seemed to be the most-asked question at the J/Boats Rendezvous in 2001:
“Where’d you put the paper towel holder?”
