Cb cars have toggles with ears
Our new CB cars have toggles with ears that provide perfect attachment points for Carbo or Black Magic® control. These blocks not only align themselves to the load, but are raised off the car body to line up with the blocks at the end of the track, allowing them to tilt up, down or twist—useful when track is curved.
DOUBLE/TRIPLE CARBO CONTROL BLOCKS
Install the car control bodies so they rotate 90-degrees from the end control blocks. The axis of the car-mounted blocks is horizontal, while the end control block axis is vertical. If blocks are not mounted like this, they will hit the car and won't align with the load. The line also reeves best.
ATTACHING BLOCKS TO TOGGLES
Although Small Boat, Midrange and Big Boat toggles are similar, the control blocks attach to the car differently.
Small Boat & Midrange Travelers
No Shackle
For Small Boat use the #348 fixed single with no additional shackle. This block works for a 2:1 or 3:1 system. For Midrange use the 40 mm fixed block (#2650) with no additional shackle. This fixed block style works easily as a 3:1 by deadending the line into the center hole. For a 4:1 system, use the 40 mm double (#2638)
. Run the toggle ear pin directly into the headpost pin, Do not use the shackle, but use the U-Lock to prevent block from twisting.

Big Boat Traveler
Shackle
In the Big Boat system, the stand-up toggle comes with a becket roller. When using 57 mm single or double blocks (#2600, 2601 or 2602), 40 mm double #2638,
2642
), or 57 mm Black Magic® blocks (#1950
, 1951), attach the shackle around the roller and install the block. You may question the tidiness of this, but the block is held up nicely. Its movement is dampened by the shackle squeezing between the plastic becket roller and the rubber standup.
Big Boat Traveler—
ratchet Control
If you need a 6:1 control, use the triple block with ratchet. This provides the very best traveler control. Order a HSB412 (#2612 without cam arms). Shackle to the control arms using the becket spacer as above.
Big Boat Traveler—Direct Attachment
If you prefer a lower profile system, those blocks with 6 mm pins can attach without using the shackle; however, the block will bang around more without the dampening effect of the shackle.
