Friends, I'm going mad in Holland. We have a new boat and need some time in it. If I hypothertically had a week's holdiay in Jan/Feb*, a budget for a ferry ticket and some petrol**. Is there anywhere I can drive to and find:

1) Warmish water
2) A reservoir/club providing saftey cover thorugh the week.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Sorry for the abreviation, can't spell either of those.
**Am currnently clocking 60+ hour weeks on the timesheet (but working many more)

Roland,

Mar Menor, Murcia, Spain.
Inland sea/lagoon about six times the size of Portland Harbour. Ticks the warm and safe (in terms of being enclosed) boxes. Jan/Feb will be similar warmth to British summer. Warm enough to swim there last week. Katie and I had 2 sails in an RS Q'Ba (nearly beat foiling Moths around the course by dead running downwind!). Polish ladies windsurf team were there training rather than the Baltic, cant blame them as we were at the Baltic at the end of the week which was a tad colder! See www.carmurcia.es

Probably no rescue cover, unless you liase with a time that Alan of ProVela is there www.pro-vela.com/en/

Quality self catering appartment 20mins away with generous 'mates rates' discount to Cherub class members here;

Don't forget Hourtin!

Much nearer. Less warm, but it is the south of france, so not too bad.

Just had something funny happen, I had a bottle of 7up outside my window for the past couple of hours to cool down it is about -15 outside.
When I brought it in it was totally clear and liquid, and I thought I had timed it right, cold but not frozen. However when I opened it and the pressure inside dropped it froze into a kind of slush puppy mixture. I only noticed when I went to drink and nothing came out.
