I have been using sicomin 8500 for most of my epoxying for a while now, I was at the fairing stage of my new centerboard when I ran out. I went to my local chandlers and bought some West 105 just to get things finished. It is just not as good for fairing, it seems stickier and I can't get such a smooth finish with the squegee.
I am not sure if I would have noticed if I had not been using a different resin just previously. It got me wondering if anyone else had noticed differences like this or knew of a "best" combination for fairing.
