There are a lot of ideas on the Tiller Extension Tech Page. the bamboo ones are quick and easy to make from DIY store parts.

Fishing shops are a good way forward.  Carp landing handles were the thing, I think.   We almost certainly have a spare you can use at Weston though.

I also have a spare of the Dean/Simon Super Extensions. It has an Omniflex 2 joint but I don't mind if you want to swap it over for the day.
