All welcome to this years 2nd UK Cherub Hoe down!

Take your partners by the wire and swing them round the fore stay!

We're holding an impromptu boat swap, blasting, have a go at twinning and playing with large kite weekend. It's being held on the 21st and 22nd of August at Draycote. All are welcome. Especially if you have been keeping a weather eye on the class recently and are keen to try out a twin wire flyer. To give you a little insight about Cherubing, here's what a recent convert said:

"Well, Suicide Blonde hit the water (quite hard on occasions!) for the first time in what Will tells me is about 10 years today!  Went out with a mate in the morning, which was well gusty and pretty windy, but all 26 stones of us were twin wiring on the original single spreader tin mast on a 2 sail reach!  We put the kite up a bit but got scared and then wet so we put it away again.  I found out what it was like to go past the crew and end up in front of the boat as it pitch-poled on top of me (but somehow I found that really funny!) and we ripped out 2 cleats and put about 4 holes in the deck, but hey.

Went out with Kathy later on and although not quite windy enough to twin, we had some schmoooooookin' 3 sail reaches and we were both totally blown away by the acceleration…also managed not to capsize in about 90 mins of sailing so we were pretty chuffed." Iain Christie

Saturday will be dedicated to have a go seasons, boat swapping, blasting, a bit of filming for the class DVD and trying out big spinnakers. Followed by an evening BBQ at the club. Sunday will consist of a couple of windward leeward races, forming part of normal Draycote Water's club racing and more of the above. So if this has wetted your appetite please come along to Draycote Water on the 21st and 22nd of August and find out what really gets our hearts racing.
